White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stopped by Hannity Monday night to set the record straight on DOGE efforts to weed out corruption, fraud, and waste in the federal government.
Leavitt says Trump 2.0 has succeeded where other administrations have failed.
“President Trump is the first president in our lifetime actually to do it,” Leavitt said. “And now you see the Democrat Party and the mainstream media spiraling out of control about a very simple promise: rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse from our federal bureaucracy. This is a promise President Trump campaigned on and he’s now delivering on it.”
Leavitt continued: “I’ve been fighting fake news reporters all day long in the Washington D.C. swamp who are trying to fearmonger the American people into believing that his administration is trying to go after their hard-earned tax dollars and their hard-earned social security checks.”
“I want to set the record straight: President Trump has directed Elon Musk and the DOGE team to identify fraud at the social security administration,” Leavitt continued. “They suspect that there are tens of millions of deceased people who are receiving fraudulent Social Security payments. And so their goal is to identify three things: identify duplicate payments and to end them; to identify payments that are going to deceased people; and to protect the integrity of the system for hard-working Americans who have been paying into it their entire lives.”
“Do not buy into the lies of the legacy fake news media,” Leavitt added.
