While delivering remarks in support of parental rights in the face of the growing dangers of radical gender ideology, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was heckled this week in a strange exchange with an unknown opponent.
“They want to stand between a parent and a child on these important decisions. And I don’t think it’s abuse if a parent says ‘I don’t want to give my child puberty blockers.'” Gaetz said.
“In Washington State today, if the parent makes the decision to not provide a child with gender-affirming care, it unlocks a period of time to keep the child away from the parent and to not tell the parent where the kid is.”
At this point, Gaetz was “booed” by someone in the room.
“Oh please, get over yourself,” Gaetz said.
