KERRY TO COMMITTEE: 'Thank You for the Opportunity to Hang Myself' [WATCH]

Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry testified before the Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs on Thursday; the committee was holding a hearing on “The State Department’s Climate Agenda: A Budget Overview by the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.”

Kerry was asked about his green agenda, China, and whether or not he’s a radical.

“What are your thoughts? Are you embracing some far-left radical agenda?” Rep. Madeline Dean (D-PA) asked Kerry.

“Well, thank you…for the opportunity to hang myself,” Kerry said, leading to laughs in the room.

“I think I’m pursuing common sense,” Kerry answered.

Watch the clip above.

Dean went on to compare Kerry to Martin Luther King Jr. —really.

Kerry was also asked about his private jet use, which he pushed back on.

RNC Research on Twitter quickly fact-checked Kerry with a Fox News article.

From Fox News:

Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry’s family jet has emitted over 300 metric tons of carbon dioxide since the Biden administration began, federal data shows.

Kerry’s family jet, a Gulfstream GIV-SP, has made a total of 48 trips lasting more than 60 hours and emitted an estimated 715,886 pounds, or 325 metric tons, of carbon since President Biden was sworn into office, according to federal data obtained by Fox News Digital via FlightAware. The plane belongs to Flying Squirrel LLC., a charter company owned by Kerry’s wife Teresa Heinz-Kerry and in which Kerry reported owning a more than $1 million stake on his most recent financial disclosure.
