Former Hawaii Rep and one-time Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard blasted the Biden-Harris administration for promoting dangerous puberty-blocking treatments for children, even as the FDA just confirmed the drugs have extremely dangerous side effects, like brain swelling and vision loss.
“The FDA made a disturbing, but not at all surprising announcement just a few days ago about children’s health,” Gabbard said in a video “Now, if you haven’t heard about it, or, if you missed it, it is because the mainstream media and the Biden-Harris administration have been completely silent on it, and this warning that the FDA issued was basically saying that puberty blockers can cause serious health risks for our kids. Unfortunately, at almost the exact same time the FDA issued this warning, Biden-Harris administration officials were making public statements actively promoting the use of puberty blockers and irreversible surgeries for kids.”
“Now, let’s be clear: this administration is dangerously promoting child abuse,” she blasted.

Back in June, Biden signed an executive order calling on the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services to increase access to gender-affirming care and develop ways to counter state efforts aimed at limiting such treatments for transgender minors, The Texas Tribune reports.

Puberty blockers earned a warning label from the Food and Drug Administration earlier this month after six minors (ages 5-12) experienced severe symptoms. The puberty blockers in question are known scientifically as “gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) substances.”
The minors, who were all biologically female, suffered from symptoms of “pseudotumor cerebri” (tumor-like masses in the brain), including visual disturbances (seeing bright lights that aren’t there), headache or vomiting, papilledema (swelling of the optic nerve), increased blood pressure, and abducens neuropathy (eye paralysis).
