TRUMP HONORS ABE: 'A Man Who Loved and Cherished His Magnificent Country'

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.08.22

Former President Donald Trump commented on the tragic passing of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe; he says he was a ‘true friend’ and a friend to America. Trump says ‘few people know what a great man and leader’ he was.

Shortly after the shooting, but before Abe was pronounced dead, Trump shared the following message on TRUTH.

“Absolutely devastating news that former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan, a truly great man and leader, has been shot, and is in very serious condition. He was a true friend of mine and, much more importantly, America. This is a tremendous blow to the wonderful people of Japan, who loved and admired him so much. We are all praying for Shinzo and his beautiful family!”

Once official word of Abe’s passing was released, Trump returned to TRUTH to comment further.

“Really BAD NEWS FOR THE WORLD! Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is dead. He was assassinated. His killer was captured and will hopefully be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Few people know what a great man and leader Shinzo Abe was, but history will teach them and be kind. He was a unifier like no other, but above all, he was a man who loved and cherished his magnificent country, Japan. Shinzo Abe will be greatly missed. There will never be another like him! President Donald J. Trump”

From Fox News:

The late Shinzo Abe’s political career as Japan’s prime minister spanned three U.S. presidencies, with George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump working with him as a key ally in tackling global security issues, particularly efforts to denuclearize North Korea.

After Trump entered the White House, Abe huddled with Trump twice at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida.

In the first visit in February 2017, Abe called a North Korea ballistic missile launch “absolutely intolerable.”

The following year, Abe once again met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and discussed topics including strategy on dealing with North Korea.

“South Korea is meeting and has plans to meet with North Korea to see if they can end the war,” Trump said alongside Abe at the time. “They have my blessing on that.”
