The 11-11 Pledge is a nationwide effort to inspire a renewed spirit toward the true meaning of Veterans Day, 11-11, and to honor and appreciate our veterans in a meaningful and memorable way like never before, from classrooms to corporations to communities.
Building Homes for Heroes began the 11-11 Pledge in 2018 to unite our country behind our heroes on our nation’s only holiday devoted to our veterans. All it takes is $11 to make a difference in the lives of wounded veterans and their families. In honor of Veterans Day, the organization will gift 11 homes in 11 weeks for the second straight year across the country. Of these homes, nine are Purple Heart recipients and two have received the Silver Star. It’s an accomplishment that the organization plans to do again next year and every year.
“The goal of the 11-11 Pledge is to generate a renewed enthusiasm and revival across the country of the true meaning and spirit of Veterans Day, so children and students in elementary school, middle school, high schools and universities, and all Americans from sea to shining sea will be unified under a sense of patriotism and compassion for all,” said Building Homes for Heroes Founder Andy Pujol. “What more beautiful way to honor all the heroic men and women who have sacrificed so much for our great country?”

AMERICAN HEROES: President Trump Signs Executive Order Forgiving Student Debt for Disabled Veterans
President Trump signed an Executive Order Thursday cancelling student debt for permanently disabled veterans; effectively forgiving loans for more than 25,000 Americans.
“The order, which Trump signed following a speech at the American Veterans National Convention in Louisville, Ky., also clears those eligible veterans from having to pay any federal income tax on the loans. Trump added that he is pressuring individual states to follow suit,” reports Fox News.
“The debt of these disabled veterans will be completely erased,” Trump said. “That’s hundreds of millions of dollars of student loans debt for our disabled veterans that will be completely erased.”

“Trump’s announcement comes days after the administration hired a longtime student loan industry executive to be the federal government’s top watchdog for the student loan market. Robert Cameron will serve as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s new student loan ombudsman, the bureau said Friday,” adds Fox.

Nine Line Apparel Honored our Heroes in a VERY Cool Way
A group of our nation’s veterans decided to honor their fallen brothers and sisters in a very American way over Memorial Day Weekend.
Veteran-owned, Nine Line Apparel teamed up with 11 other companies—including Black Rifle Coffee Company—to sponsor Jeffrey Earnhardt’s car in the Coca Cola 600 in North Carolina. The names of 617 fallen service members were emblazoned on the hood of Earnhardt’s car.
In the lead-up to the race, Nine Line Apparel sold a t-shirt to benefit the non-profit, Angels of America’s Fallen, which provides support to children of fallen military members and first responders. With each purchase of a t-shirt, customers were encouraged to submit a name of a fallen service member to be included on the hood of Earnhardt’s car.
On Sunday, Earnhardt and retired Army captain and CEO of Nine Line, Tyler Merritt, presented Angels of America’s Fallen with a check for $ 15,000.
Angels of America’s Fallen CEO, Joe Lewis told Fox News, “It brings awareness to the fact that there are thousands of children of our fallen that are out there trying to go through their childhood, the most crucial…years without the support or guidance of their parent. It’s really important that as a nation we help those children mitigate the risks they face of increased anxiety, depressions, substance abuse, dropping out of school and even suicide.”
