COVID CONFESSION: Fetterman Admits Partisanship Blinded Him on Lab Leak — 'The Truth Might Come From a Side Different Than You Are'

Once again, the Keystone State Senator is the lone Democrat voice of reason…

Sen. John Fetterman delivered a rare moment of political honesty Wednesday, admitting that partisan loyalty may have clouded his judgment about the COVID-19 lab-leak theory.

The Pennsylvania Democrat made the admission while facing Dr. Anthony Fauci during a chaotic Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing.

“I hope that the next time our nation’s facing something like this, we do not become, as I might have been, blinded by the partisan idea that maybe the truth might come from a side that’s different than you are,” Fetterman said.

It was a striking concession.

In the early months of the pandemic, President Donald Trump and other Republicans raised the possibility that COVID-19 escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.

Much of the media and political left treated the theory as conspiracy material. Social media companies restricted some discussions of it, while prominent officials and scientists emphasized natural transmission from animals.

The virus’s origin has still not been conclusively established. But the lab-leak possibility is no longer dismissed by the federal government or treated as a fringe claim.
