STRAIT FIRE: America Pounds Iran as Battle for Global Oil Route Explodes

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.15.26

The battle for the Strait of Hormuz entered a new phase Wednesday as the United States launched another wave of strikes against Iran and Tehran threatened to squeeze energy exports across the region.

US Central Command said the operation began Wednesday morning, hours after American forces completed a seven-hour assault on dozens of military targets near the critical waterway and along Iran’s coast.

“At 6 a.m. ET today, US Central Command forces began launching a wave of strikes against Iran,” the military said.“The strikes are designed to further degrade military capabilities Iranian forces have used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”

The fresh barrage came after the United States reimposed its naval blockade of Iranian ports, further escalating the fight over a shipping lane that handled roughly one-fifth of global oil and natural gas trade before the war.

US forces struck Iranian coastal defenses, missile positions, and other military sites during the previous overnight operation, according to reporting from The Associated Press. The campaign has now expanded beyond isolated nighttime attacks, signaling an increased operational tempo.

Iran claims it answered the American strikes by attacking US military targets across the region, including facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan.

Those Iranian claims have not been independently confirmed in full. Jordan said its forces intercepted three missiles, while US officials reported that Iran had launched dozens of missiles and drones toward neighboring Gulf countries.

Hannity’s Highlights

CENTCOM launched a new wave of strikes against Iran at 6 a.m. ET Wednesday — keeping up the pressure as the military campaign enters another day.

The U.S. reimposed its blockade of Iranian ports amid the fight for the Strait of Hormuz — tightening the economic vise as military operations continue.

Iran claimed retaliatory attacks on U.S. targets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan — widening the theater of conflict across three American partner nations.

The IRGC threatened to disrupt other regional energy export routes — a warning that Tehran may target chokepoints beyond the Strait of Hormuz if the fighting continues.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps then raised the stakes again, threatening to disrupt additional energy routes used by the United States and its allies.

Washington “must brace for the closure of all other export corridors that benefit the US and its allies,” the IRGC warned Wednesday.

The renewed combat has effectively shattered the interim arrangement that previously led Washington to lift its first blockade. Now the blockade is back, the bombs are falling in daylight, and Iran is threatening to push the energy fight beyond Hormuz.
