Iran has pulled back the curtain on one of the most heavily guarded sites in the Islamic Republic, releasing the first footage from inside the compound where Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during the opening hours of the war.
The newly released 50-second video showcases the destruction left behind by the Feb. 28 U.S.-Israeli airstrike that struck the longtime supreme leader’s headquarters. Iranian state media released the footage as part of a six-day funeral observance honoring Khamenei, who led the country from 1989 until his death.
Little remains of the once-fortified complex.
The blast tore through the structure, leaving behind exposed support beams, twisted rebar and mountains of broken concrete. Interior rooms where Khamenei once met with senior officials and delivered public sermons have been reduced to rubble, with collapsed ceiling sections and doors blown from their hinges.
Aerial shots included in the video show the compound from above, revealing widespread destruction across the site. What was once one of the regime’s most recognizable centers of power now appears largely flattened.
The footage marks the first official look inside the compound since the strike.
According to the supplied information, Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, assumed power after his father’s death but has not appeared publicly since the attacks. He also has not been seen during the funeral events held for the late supreme leader.

The video surfaced as the conflict entered a dangerous new phase.
President Donald Trump declared Wednesday that the interim cease-fire agreement with Iran was effectively finished after ordering a renewed round of military operations.
“I think it’s over,” Trump said when asked about the agreement, adding that he no longer wanted to negotiate with Iran’s leadership and calling them “scum.”
The remarks came after U.S. forces resumed strikes this week, hitting approximately 90 targets across Iran during two days of military operations.
The renewed attacks have raised fresh questions about whether any diplomatic path remains after the collapse of the temporary truce.
