Squad-member Ayanna Pressley will reportedly introduce legislation Tuesday to launch an Impeachment inquiry against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh following a recent New York Times article containing new allegations of sexual abuse.
“Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., one of the four freshman congresswomen known collectively as the “Squad,” is planning Tuesday to introduce a resolution seeking an impeachment inquiry into Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, despite reluctance from top Democrats to pursue one and concerns about the basis for the latest accusations,” reports Fox News.
“The resolution follows a New York Times report that included a new allegation of sexual misconduct from when Kavanaugh was in college — although an editors’ note later revealed that the alleged victim did not recall it taking place. In a statement, Pressley only focused on the women who came forward during Kavanaugh’s confirmation process,” adds Fox.
“I believe Christine Blasey Ford. I believe Deborah Ramirez,” Pressley said in a statement. “It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors.”

Prominent Democrats demanded the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh Monday; citing a botched New York Times article that was eventually corrected by the national newspaper after widespread criticism.
“Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him. Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached,” posted Warren on social media.

“Brett Kavanaugh was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached. Sign our petition if you agree,” added Harris.

“This was almost a year ago. It is unsurprising that Kavanaugh, credibly accused of sexual assault, would lie under oath to secure a Supreme Court seat. Because sexual assault isn’t a crime of passion – it’s about the abuse of power. He must be impeached,” wrote Ocasio-Cortez.

The New York Times found itself in hot-water over the weekend after publishing an explosive “bombshell” on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh; posting sections of a new book that contained unfounded allegations of sexual abuse during his time in college.
“The New York Times suddenly made a major revision to a supposed bombshell piece late Sunday concerning a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh — hours after virtually all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates had cited the original article as a reason to impeach Kavanaugh,” reports Fox News.
“The update included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim said she did not recall the purported sexual assault in question at all. The Times also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no comment about the episode,” adds Fox.
CRUZ ON FIRE: Ted Cruz SLAMS NY Times' Kavanaugh Hit-Piece, Says Paper has ‘Political Agenda’
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz unloaded on the New York Times Monday after the newspaper published a botched hit-piece on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh; deleting an embarrassing tweet and posting an official correction hours later.
“READ stunning NYT CORRECTION. If a high-school freshman did this on a school paper, he’d get an F. This is an outfit that has won multiple Pulitzers; presumably they know how to be actual journalists. It’s almost as if the reporters, editors, publisher have a political agenda,” posted Cruz on social media.

Chair of the House Judiciary Committee Jerrold Nadler backtracked against the Democratic Party’s recent push to remove Justice Brett Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court Monday; saying lawmakers are simply too busy impeaching President Trump.
“We have our hands full with impeaching the president right now and that’s going to take up our limited resources and time for a while,” said Nadler when asked to comment on Kavanaugh.
“Nadler’s interview comes amid calls from some Senate Democrats and presidential candidates to impeach Kavanaugh after a New York Times story over the weekend reported a new allegation of sexual misconduct against the justice from his time as a student at Yale,” reports Politico.

“Editors’ Note: Sept. 15, 2019
An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article,” updated the Times.
