PETE RISING: Mayor Pete Buttigieg Tops Iowa Poll for the First Time, Biden Falls to 2nd Place

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.13.19

South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg is gaining traction in the pivotal Iowa caucuses just months before voters cast their ballots; surging to first place in recent polling that solidifies his position as a top-tier candidate.

“Pete Buttigieg has joined former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders as a top candidate in Iowa, a Monmouth University Poll released Tuesday shows,” reports the Wall Street Journal.

“At 22%, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana received the most support in a survey of those likely to attend the state’s Feb. 3 Democratic caucuses. He is followed by Mr. Biden at 19%, Ms. Warren at 18% and Mr. Sanders at 13%,” adds the WSJ.

A similar survey showed Sen. Kamala Harris’ campaign on life-support in New Hampshire; garnering just 1% of support from likely Democratic voters.

The latest survey from Quinnipiac shows former Vice President Joe Biden in the lead with 20% of support; followed by Elizabeth Warren at 16%, Pete Buttigieg at 15%, and Bernie Sanders at 14%.

Harris finished at the bottom of the list with just 1%.

“As for the bottom-tier, Quinnipiac finds Kamala Harris posting her worst polling result of 2019 in New Hampshire a couple weeks after the California senator fired her campaign staff and closed campaign offices in the state in order to redirect her diminishing resources to Iowa,” reports the National Review.

The poor showing comes days after Harris slashed staff and closed campaign offices in New Hampshire; a sign the campaign acknowledges their uphill battle throughout the state.

AOC vs. PETE: Ocasio-Cortez Rips Buttigieg, Says Mayor ‘Protecting Era of Big Money’

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.15.19

Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called-out South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg Monday night; accusing the Democratic presidential hopeful of “protecting” the “era of big money.”

“Small-dollar grassroots campaigns, aka what Buttegieg insults here as ‘pocket change,’ out-fundraise him by millions. Our nation’s leaders should be working to end the era of big money politics, not protect it. & Beto’s gun policy isn’t ‘picking a fight,’ it’s taking a stand,” posted AOC on social media.

Sen. Cory Booker made similar comments earlier this week; accusing Buttigieg of defending the National Rifle Association.

“Calling buyback programs ‘confiscation’ is doing the NRA’s work for them, @PeteButtigieg—and they don’t need our help,” posted Booker on social media.

Both Booker and O’Rourke support a mandatory gun confiscation policy.

BAD ADVICE: Mayor Pete Buttigieg Reportedly HUDDLING with HILLARY in Recent Days

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.01.19

South Bend, Indiana Mayor and rising Democrat presidential contender Pete Buttigieg reportedly met with Hillary Clinton in recent days; huddling with the twice-failed candidate at her New York City office.

“Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg sat down with Hillary Clinton on Tuesday,” reports The Hill. “Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., who has been recently surging in the polls, requested the meeting, the sources say.”

Clinton has also met with several top-tier candidates including Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and Cory Booker.

Buttigieg has surged in recent polling and now trails Former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders; largely eclipsing better-known politicians including Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, and Beto O’Rourke.
